What is Vocational education and training (VET)? VET is that part of tertiary education and training which provides accredited training in job related and technical skills. It covers a large number of careers and industries like trades and office work, retail, hospitality and technology. Qualifications range from Certificate II to Certificate IV, Individuals can be trained in part qualifications or ‘skills sets’ VET is a compulsory component of PLVC VCAL courses. VET allows students to gain real qualification and experience while still at school, that will give them a strong pathway into further training, apprenticeship and traineeships.
